Day 206-209 (Family Goes to the Jungle)

Family Goes to the Jungle

So Sean, Jama and the Kiddos finally arrived in Quito after a week of driving the Ecuadorian coastline while we were in London. It was great to see them!

... and after a very short reunion (they arrived around 9pm and we left the next morning), we set out for the Jungle in the rented Land Cruiser

... now, we brought the smaller waterproof camera with us, and it was hot and muggy in the jungle ... so Lily was not nearly as photogenic as normal ... so, here are some pics of monster-Lily from the Jungle ...

"hey you with that camera! I want that."

"hey! stop moving around and let me have that ..."

"... you win"

"... no more photos people"

... and then the heat sank in

... but both Lily and Lo looked amazing in the morning!

... and then it was a canoe ride to our jungle resort

Our rooms had amazing views

... and all the cousins got their time with Lily

... and TARANTULAS!! ... we saw one at our first hostel too, but I just couldn't get a good photo ... I asked the bartender in Spanish if they are dangerous. His response was to shrug and say, "If you try to grab them, otherwise ... eh, not so much"

... then activity number one! Adventure time! Oh what's that? The second we walk to the canoe a black death cloud covers half the sky ... intriguing

... so at our first stop, which was a rescue center for native creatures in the middle of nowhere ... we relaxed for a little while in our sopping clothing ... because even though the climate is warm, the rain is still cold ...

... and then after our adventure in the rain, Emma decided to make her own way back to the resort

... and then it was off the canopies!

The two ladies and the kiddos conquered the ropes course with ease

... and looked good doing it

Day 205 (First Day of Vacation)

First Day of Vacations

Lily is pumped for her family to come visit tomorrow. She is dressed in her classic Oneill's gear.

... and then we fed her, which is always fun. She loves the food and keeps coming back for more ... but the faces she makes in between are wonderfully entertaining

192-197 Days Old (London Job Fair)

London Job Fair

Here is the one photo we took in Amsterdam on our layover before heading to London. Lily is bundled up nice and warm for the snowy streets of Amsterdam.

... and then we went to the job fair in London ... and landed a dream job!!

We are moving to southern Switzerland, on a hill above a lake overlooking Italy and the Alps. The language is Italian, the food is Italian, the architecture and culture are Italian ... here are some pictures of the area

This is a view from the neighborhood we will live in, Matagnola

... and it is a boarding school. Here is a view from the some of the campus dorms

... and here are some photos of the area (Lugano is the big city of 60,000 people and Ticino is the canton or state/county/area we will live in with about 340,000 people)

Lily, what do you think about eating Italian food every day?!

... and what do you think about Ecuadorian food?

That settles it ... We are moving to Switzerland!!

188-192 Days Old (Playtime)

Playtime
Before leaving for the London job fair, we had some major playtime

193-205 Days Old (Average Day for Lily)

An Average Day in Lily's Life

Time to wake up! We can't always look our best.

"Where is my morning coffee?"

... then my parents make me ... play ...

"Is this smile good enough? Can I stop playing now?"

"Oh, hi there dad"

"... and hey mom!"

... tired of playing by herself, she gives the signal

... then playtime with friends!

... then cuddle time with mom

... belly time

... breakfast

... and finally an artsy photo

... and then she spends the rest of the day playing happily ever after
