Day 296 (Fake Cry)

Crocodile Tears

Here are eight photos of Lily fake crying, in order.

First, the face scrunches up.

Then she starts to get loud

Then comes the crying

She really does start to look sad

... but then the tongue starts to come out ... a sure sign she is fake crying ...

... more scrunching ...

... and we're done ...

Day 289 (Miami)

Some More Miami Photos From Grandma

Father and daughter spent a lot of time in the water.

Haha, then it was time for snacks with her great grandma.

Back into the pool with mom

Then auntie will dry her off

Then time to look super cute.

Then off to see some gators

Then a quick stop at the only beach on Key Largo

... and some goodbye hugs before going back to Quito

Day 293 (Peek a Boo)

Lily Loves Peek-a-Boo

Day 291-296

Back in Quito, we have to keep the baby warm.

... and she has so many friends here. Here is Lily playing with Maelle. They are SUPER cute together as they start to become more interested in other kids and more interactive in their playing.

... and her is her other friend Kieran, with his new glasses.

Haha, Lily in the morning.

... oh and this is the sort of thing that happens at 11pm on a weeknight. People come and set up a giant crane outside your porch ... it was gone in the morning, but it made plenty of noise from about 11pm until 3am or so.

Oh, sweaty baby just waking up ...

... and these were taken this morning. She is in one of her sunny day outfits as it is gorgeous outside. We took a nice family trip to Cyril for some breakfast and drinks in the sun. We also picked up some nice fresh bakery bread and goat cheese that we are eating now for a lunchtime snack.

... and she has so much energy, she makes a lot of faces like this as she screeches in excitement.

Day 293 (Crawling)

Lily Learns to Crawl!

All it took was being in the United States. Within an hour of waking up in Miami after a redeye flight and a few hours of sleep ... she was crawling for the first time. We think it helps that her disposable diapers are WAY smaller between her legs than the clothe diapers so she can keep her legs together, and that on nice carpet she can get a good grip whereas our house in Quito is all slippery hardwood.

Oh, and she only crawls for two reasons:
1. Crawl to crackers we take out (how the video was made)
2. Crawl to coffee table to stand up

Day 287-289 (Miami)

Lily Takes Miami

Here is Lily after her redeye flight to Miami. She likes the weather ... because she can be naked!

First, some time with my grandma and my great aunt (grandma's sis)

Then off to the rescued animal park.

"Mmmmmm, that little baby looks delicious ... maybe she will come down to the water for a drink"

Oh no, they are being eaten by alligators!!

Lily is nice and tired after a long day in the sun

A day at the beach in Key Largo.

... and a day at the beach in front of our rental house in Fort Lauderdale. It was like Maui (but a lot cheaper). There were white sand beaches, palm trees, warm blue ocean, warm weather, and everyone walking around in swimsuits. Moral of the story is: Who is meeting us in Miami next year?
