It has been a lot of fun creating this blog about Lily's first year of life in Ecuador. Now it is time to move on to a new blog that documents the rise of both Dilloughery daughters. The new blog is titled "Swiss Family Dilloughery" and can be found at http://swissfamilydilloughery.blogspot.ch/
Hola, hemos cambiado blogs por que el nombre de este blog es "Lily Pad In Ecuador" ... pero pronto vamos a tener dos hijas y no vivimos en Ecuador. El nuevo blog es http://swissfamilydilloughery.blogspot.ch/
Here is a nice photo of the view from our new apartment to entice you into visiting the new blog. I took this this morning at sunrise:

Here are some fun shots I tinkered with in photoshop. My first attempt and it was pretty fun and easy.

Day 353-356
Here are some cute miscellanous photos of Lily form the last few days ... and possibly some of the last photos of her in Ecuador. We leave in less than 72 hours!!
Here she is playing her favorite game, called pull-things-out-of-a-bag-one-at-a-time
... and here she is playing with her playmat made into little cubes by her mom ...

Day 353 (Lily Can Surf)
Oh, and if Lily wasn't cute enough already ... she can surf ... on her water pad of all places too. I did not try and teach her or anything, she seriously just started getting into this position on her own ... and I had to take a photo!
Day 353 (BBQ with Alexandra & Margarita)
Nuestra Despedida!
That means going away party ... loosely. So our nanny and maid got together and threw us a going away party with all of their families and it was SUPER sweet and super fun. Here are some of the photos ...
Lily learned to play soccer
... and the view from Mirador Uno (lookout one, or viewpoint one) was amazing
Here is little angle-faced Natty who is the daughter of Alexandra. She is SUPER cute and LOVES Lily. After the barbecue they came up to our house and Natty held Lily while Lily drank her bottle and fell asleep in her arms.
Here is Diego, Margarita's son ... who is benefitting from all of the clothes I am leaving. We are the exact same size. Lily is trying to go see the dog right now, and that is why she is squirming
... and this is Coni, Margarita's dog who was perfect with Lily all day, even though Lily's version of petting was banging her hand down excitedly on Coni's face
This is one of my favorite pictures of the day. Lauren sure knows how to capture a moment!
Awww, father and daughter ... best friends forever
Lily loved the soccer ball ... and getting dirty
She is definitely Ecuadorian
Here are both of Alexandra's kids, Edison (left) and Natty (right) as well as one of Margarita's daughter in the middle named Alexandra. Lily loved hanging out with everyone and was not shy at all. Even the guys, especially Margarita's husband Pepe. Lily would get scared by something and cling right to him for protection and was probably with Pepe for almost an hour in total ...
... and finally, Lily is exhausted back at the house after a long delay of her second nap.
... but she still pops her head up ... then goes back to cuddling ...
... hahaha, then pops her head up smiley and full of energy for a few seconds before going back down to cuddle on mom's chest
... then nap time for real

Day 353 (Lily Dancing to Snoop Dogg)
Lily Loves Rap
I was finally able to catch Lily dancing on camera. She dances all the time but thinks the video camera is a toy, so as soon as I take it out the dancing halts and it becomes time to grab the camera-toy.
She is pretty ecclectic with her taste. So far this weekend she has danced to some chill reggae type music (Stick Figure), the Rolling Stones, Snoop Dogg, Abba and others.

Day 344 (Last Mindo Trip)
Last Mindo Trip
Here is Lily playing with her friend Francis, as all the gringo teachers get ready to head off to Mindo for our last trip in Ecuador.
Here is Francis gifting Lily a wonderful little rock to choke on =)
Our last little pueblo in South America for many years to come
... and the abandoned houses that come with it
... and the city square
Twenty four weeks and looking good
Lily in her Miami outfit
Lily and Maelle hanging out together
Lily is a joy in the night and early morning
... and of course she has to take at least one crazy, blinking shot ...
... and then she had to make her final calls goodbye
