37 Days Old (Kung Fu Baby)

Kung Fu Baby

So there were only a few photos taken on day 37 ... but this is one is probably my favorite photo of Lily  thus far ... you can tell after just 37 days of life ... that she is going to be the next Chuck Norris ... they will tell jokes about Lily like ...

"Fear of spiders is called arachnophobia, fear of tight spaces is called claustrophobia, fear of Lily Dilloughery is called logic."

"Lily Dilloughery doesn't call the wrong number, you pick up the wrong phone"

"Lily Dilloughery has a grizzly bear carpet in her room. The bear isn't dead, it's just afraid to move"

"Ghosts sit around the campfire and tell Lily Dilloughery stories"

"Some magicians can walk on water, Lily Dilloughery can swim through land"

"Lily Dilloughery can cut through a hot knife with butter."

"Lily Dilloughery and Superman once fought. The loser had to start wearing their underwear on the outside of their pants"

"Lily Dilloughery is the reason Waldo is hiding"

"Death had a near-Lily experience"

"Lily once kicked a horse in the chin. Its descendants are known as giraffes"

33 Days Old (Butterflies)

Lily Loves Butterflies

Ok, so usually Lily is very photogenic and cooperative ... but she was very sleepy here ... so we took many photos trying to get one nice one ... instead, we got a collection of goofy faces ... but she didn't see to mind the giant butterfly on her forehead (or even notice that anything was there) ...

First we put the butterfly on ... and she went back to sleep ...

... even after poking and prodding, still a sleeping Mr. Magoo was all we got ...

... then she halfway woke up ... for a moment ...

... only to be hypnotized by the giant butterfly ...

... and after a yawn she kind of awoke ... sensing something on her forehead ... but she couldn't quite see it ...

... i can only imagine that this is her way of greeting the butterfly "heeeeeyyy!!!" (in a jersey accent)

... but her feelings got hurt when the butterfly didn't respond ...

Then we said ... make a great face for the camera ... and here is Lily's 3-step process to get there ...

Step 1 - Get those cheeks moving ...

Step 2 - Get those eyes open

Step 3 - Beautiful!

33-35 Days Old (Mindo)

The Family Goes to Mindo (Lily's First Trip)

First of all ... sorry the blog went on sabbatical ... My family arrived, we went hiking, shopping, to Mindo, hiking, shopping and then when they left we had Lauren's birthday and then I got violently ill ... so now all is well and there are many photos to be put up!

First, we took a nice bus ride to Mindo. Lily slept in dad's arms the whole way ... it was great because dad and baby can sleep through anything and the bus ride was just bumpy enough (very bumpy) to keep the two nicely rocked to sleep ...

Once we arrived, Justin took over ... and Lily was more than happy to cuddle ...

The view from our hostel terrace ...

... and Lily was wide awake and hyper the whole three days because of all the extra oxygen ...

... afterwards Lily got bundled up with her new sunhat and was ready for a day out on the town

... and this is how you get around town ...

... a dollar a person gets you to the waterfalls!

... and of course we stopped at the butterfly reserve ... where we took a nice family photo

:: Because of the many silly faces Lily made ... I made a separate blog post for the butterfly reserve::

... after the butterfly reserve, we went for a nice hike (dad did not shy away from adventure)

... and here is george of the jungle, relaxing in his swing

... and after the hike, Justin wanted to hang out with Lily some more ... and this photo turned out amazing! Lauren and I were impressed ... most guys are shy about holding a baby or hand her off when she starts to cry ... but Justin did great and never tried to offload her when things got tough ...

... and here is Oxygen-drunk Lily at about 3 in the morning keeping mom and dad awake

30-32 Days Old (Bath time)

Lily is All Grown-Up

In case you can't read her shirt ... it has a super cute dolphin and reads, "I'm flipping adorable!"

... and this is her on her one month birthday

... she still loves taking baths ... she's going to be a water child ...

... Justin approves ...

... awww ... she is so cute!

.. in her one-month-old outfit ...

... haha, and she loves it when you blow on her face ... this is Lauren blowing into her hair ... hahaha, I love that look!

... still with the wind in her hair ...

... what? no more wind? ...

She is so cute with those crazy faces and big blue eyes

Lily With Friends and Family

Lily is Surround by Friends and Family

The family went on our first picnic. We went with our friends Michael, Alana and their 4-month old Maelle. Also there were our friends Patrick, Carolyn, and their 1-year-old Kieran. Fun was had by all ... frisbee, bocce, beer, and others ...

Lauren, Alana and Maelle ... dad was playing some frisbee with the baby on his chest

Then my family arrived ... and after a few hours of sleep and a super full day of hiking in to waterfalls ... day two was much more peaceful around the house ... Bri is doting over the baby here ...

... and Justin (Bri's boyfriend) loves holding babies too ... he is the only one not to be thrown up on yet ... Lily is biding her time ... revenge is a dish best served cold

... and Lily is spending some quality time with her other grandma now ...

Lily is a Punk Rocker

This is the first photo we took of Lily on her 1-month birthday ... and yes, those are rock horns she is throwing with her with her right hand ... not to mention the too-cool-for-school look on her face

"Yo yo yo, what's up homies?!"

... and this is how a rocker sleeps ... Holla!
