Family Goes to the Jungle
So Sean, Jama and the Kiddos finally arrived in Quito after a week of driving the Ecuadorian coastline while we were in London. It was great to see them!
... and after a very short reunion (they arrived around 9pm and we left the next morning), we set out for the Jungle in the rented Land Cruiser
... now, we brought the smaller waterproof camera with us, and it was hot and muggy in the jungle ... so Lily was not nearly as photogenic as normal ... so, here are some pics of monster-Lily from the Jungle ...
"hey you with that camera! I want that."
"hey! stop moving around and let me have that ..."
"... you win"
"... no more photos people"
... and then the heat sank in
... but both Lily and Lo looked amazing in the morning!
... and then it was a canoe ride to our jungle resort
Our rooms had amazing views
... and all the cousins got their time with Lily
... and TARANTULAS!! ... we saw one at our first hostel too, but I just couldn't get a good photo ... I asked the bartender in Spanish if they are dangerous. His response was to shrug and say, "If you try to grab them, otherwise ... eh, not so much"
... then activity number one! Adventure time! Oh what's that? The second we walk to the canoe a black death cloud covers half the sky ... intriguing
... so at our first stop, which was a rescue center for native creatures in the middle of nowhere ... we relaxed for a little while in our sopping clothing ... because even though the climate is warm, the rain is still cold ...
... and then after our adventure in the rain, Emma decided to make her own way back to the resort
... and then it was off the canopies!
The two ladies and the kiddos conquered the ropes course with ease
... and looked good doing it
