Lily is a Punk Rocker

This is the first photo we took of Lily on her 1-month birthday ... and yes, those are rock horns she is throwing with her with her right hand ... not to mention the too-cool-for-school look on her face

"Yo yo yo, what's up homies?!"

... and this is how a rocker sleeps ... Holla!

29 Days Old (Bath time)

Lily Loves Life

Lily enjoys her first tummy-time! She still needs a pillow to make sure she doesn't smother herself ... but for a little while she enjoyed herself

Then we found out Lily is a water girl (it must be the lilypad in her) ... She fussed for a second getting into the water ... then loved it ...

Even after the bath, she loved her little robe and a cuddle ...

... and to leave you with ... a photo of her mom with her great grandmother Ellie ... I see the resemblance, do you?

Lily Gets Her First Passport

This one was much easier to get ... and Lily's picture came out great ... now she is a legal Ecuadorian (cedula) and is able to leave the country (passport) ... now we just need to get her official birth certificate tomorrow ... then thursday morning at 9am we head to the embassy to apply for her consular acknowledgement of birth abroad and her US passport ... then at a later date we will have to apply for her social security number (takes 8-12 months) ... THEN next week, going to the Irish embassy to start the process getting her irish passport ... oh boy oh boy!

This is her new passport case, we got it out front for $2 ... need to look good!

It's official

Look at how photogenic she was this time! (unlike her screaming/yawning cedula)

... and they took her thumbprint ... everyone in the room was gathered around watching and saying "awwww que lindo (how cute)"

Lily & the Gang

Always have to include a topless shot ... because she just loves to show off

... and look at her hand ... it's a real person's hand ... a little pudgy maybe, but she can grab like no other!

Mike, Alana and Maelle came over to watch the US vs Canada women's soccer game that was amazing! The internet has already hailed the game as an instant classic ... 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3 ... then after not leading yet the entire game ... in the 2nd overtime period ... after the overtime has expired and there are 3 min of injury time left on the clock ... and after two and a half of those three minutes have gone by ... 30 seconds until it goes to a penalty kick shoot off ... A GORGEOUS GOAL!!! U.S. WINS IT! US IS GOING TO THE FINALS!!!! ... what a game! ... and this pic is Maelle watching interestedly

Right after this big, exciting, super-amazing game ... we met with our possible future nanny (so Lauren can return to work in October) ... she is a nice, polite, grandmother from Mexico who has lived here for 36 years ... she loves being a nanny, but her other family just left (embassy couple that got restationed) ... so for about double what is normal in this country for a full time maid (we want a very happy nanny) ... we will have a 6am-6pm nanny/maid/grocery shopper/cooker of mexican foods ... nothing is certain yet, but we are REALLY excited ... her name, not surprisingly because we are in south american is .... Maria

... and after all was said and done ... Leslie tried to smuggle Lily home in her carry on ... but needless to say, we caught on ... and after really thinking it over, we decided to keep her here with us

... and to leave you with ... here's a dancing baby!!!

... after waking up all week at 7am (with very little sleep) to take four hours of spanish ... dad came home to take a long nap friday afternoon ... and Lily was happy to join ...

... and she loves to snuggle right up in that armpit

... and even after the nap, she was still tired ...

"oh me oh my ... did you see me yawn? how embarrassing!"

Awww ...

Even closeup she is adorable!

Then she put on her rasta cap to go for her evening walk with dad ...

Lily Has Her 3-Week Birthday!

Well, it's official. Lily officially exists ... she is an Ecuadorian bastard-child with the last name "Dilloughery Dilloughery" who is screaming in her photo (actually yawning) ... now allow me to explain ... after two trips to the civil registry where they told us we needed something new ... we brought my spanish teacher (who researched online what was needed) ... and after lots of spanish discussions, getting a number, and a long wait ... the first thing the clerk told us is that we needed our official marriage certificate (which I actually have a copy of in our apt) and so I was thinking about going to get it ... when she further elaborated that we would need it officially translated and notarized ... we just laughed and couldn't believe it ... but then she told us that she could just give Lily a birth certificate that said we were single ... and after three visits and hours of waiting we said "okay" ... and then they told us that in Ecuador you have to put the last name of the father AND the last name of the mother ... no other way about it ... so Lily became the bastard named "Dilloughery Dilloughery" ... but nonetheless ... she is now legal in one of her three countries ... now to get her Ecuadorian passport ... then her U.S. passport and social security number ... and THEN her Irish passport ... paperwork is fun

Lily knows how to relax after a long day at the office

... and when she isn't sprawled out with arms and legs stretched ... she liked to go limp on your chest ... and I only just realized in yoga class that "child's pose" really is how babies lie ... knees up and everything else as loose and relaxed as possible ...

... look at those arms ...

"We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious. They stole it from us. Sneaky little hobbitses!"

"oh gosh, golly ... are you ... um ... talking about me? little old, shy little me? oh i'm just too thrilled!"

I just told Lily mom was out of milk!

... and then I told her that her outfit really brings out her eyes!

ZOOOOOOOOOOOM IN!!!

... and Lily is finally interested in her little play area (no idea what you call all these baby things that each have special names) ... she was focused on the dangling animals ...

... she was amazed! ... until ...

... she saw the flying monkeys!! everyone is afraid of flying monkeys!

She is just so danged cute!

... and she loves to pose for the camera!

Lauren out for Lily's daily walk (or many more than once a day)

Lily loves going topless ... this was us trying to wake her up ... she went right back to sleep

Awwwwww ....
